Two Canadians killed when bus crashes into their truck in Guanacaste
Two Canadians, a father and son, died Thursday evening when a bus hit their pickup truck on the Inter-American Highway in the northwest province of Guanacaste.
The crash occurred in the town of Bagaces. The victims were identified as George Howard Moulton, 80, and Jerry Moulton, 24, according to news program Telenoticias 7. The son, who was riding in the truckbed, died at a hospital in Liberia, Guanacaste’s capital, shortly after the accident.
The bus hit the pickup from behind while both vehicles traveled toward Liberia, according to the daily La Nación. The wife and mother of the victims, Marta María, 55, also was injured and remains at the hospital.
No bus passengers were harmed in the accident.
