The Lapathon Is Back
The second edition of the Lapathon is set to take place May 1 in Puerto Jiménez, on southwestern Costa Rica’s OsaPeninsula.
Organized by Lapa Ríos Ecolodge, the 18-kilometer race starts at the Carbonara school in Matapalo at 2 p.m. and finishes at the plaza in Puerto Jiménez. New this year is the addition of the three-kilometer Kids’ Lapathon for children ages 8 to 12.
The participation fee is ¢8,000 ($15). All proceeds will go toward an educational project for children with learning disabilities in Puerto Jiménez. Special offers and discounts to stay at Lapa Ríos or fly to the OsaPeninsula on Nature Air are available. For information, contact Lapa Ríos at 2735-5130 or info@laparios.com, or visit www.laparios.com/lapathon.html.
