San Salvador Hosts Central American Travel Market

Tourism providers from across Central  America will descend on San Salvador Oct. 9 to 11 for the sixth annual Central America Travel Market (CATM), considered the region’s most important tourismpromotion trade show.

The event brings together Central American tourism providers and international tourism operators in an attempt to provide networking opportunities and to promote the region as a tourism destination for European, North American, Asian and South American travelers.

Last year’s event, held in Managua, Nicaragua, drew 175 tourism operators from around the world to visit with 180 providers from across Central America.

The event also draws a large number of international and regional press, generating dozens of Central American tourism stories that are published and aired across the globe.

In addition to the main CATM event, to take place over three days in San Salvador’s International Convention Center, participants can sign up for pre-tours highlighting El Salvador’s many adventure tourism attractions, as well as post-tours to neighboring countries.

For information on the event, visit www.catm2009elsalvador.com.
