Dutch Descend For Buyers Fair

The Chamber of Exporters is gearing up for the first European buyers mission, to take place at the Ramada Herradura Hotel on April 3 and 4.

Jointly sponsored by the chamber, Ideavelop S.A., and the government of the Netherlands, the event will see 35 Dutch buyers and service providers descend for rounds of talks centering mainly on agricultural producers.

The Netherlands is by far Costa Rica’s most important European export market, and its third largest trading partner overall, after the United States and China.

In 2007, Costa Rica exported $462.2 million worth of goods to the Netherlands, the majority being agricultural items like ornamental plants and bananas.

Rebeca Sequeira, promotions manager for the chamber, said the buyers’ mission has a cost of $150 for those who would like to participate. For more information, call the chamber at 280-8033.
