Guatemalan Village Hunts Down Killer Crocodile

GUATEMALA CITY – A group of indigenous villagers in the rural north of Guatemala on Tuesday hunted down and killed a crocodile that devoured a 7-year-old girl who was bathing in the river with her mother.

According to police, Hermelindo Coy, brother of victim, led a group from the village of Chinaboquil, 270 kilometers north of the capital, to find the killer crocodile and shoot it to death.

The body of the crocodile was reportedly brought back into the village, where it was cut open with machetes to recover the remains of the girl.
