New Phone Number For U.S. Visas

APPOINTMENTS to request visas tothe United States can now be made bycalling 208-4949, in addition to the previousnumber, 900-1-VISA-USA.The calls can be made from home,pay, cell or commercial phones and fromlines outside Costa Rica. Payment forthe service can be made via credit ordebit card. The cost for a call to eithernumber is ¢1,500 ($3.22). Emergencyinterview requests can be sent by fax to220-2455.Requests for appointments are acceptedMonday through Friday, 8 a.m to 8p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon.More information on visas can befound on the U.S. Embassy’s Web site,usembassy.or.cr.
