Rates Increase for U.S. Passport Renewal

Passport rates for U.S. citizenshave increased, according to the U.S.State Department. The new fee for those16 and older is $97, up from $85. Therate includes a $55 passport fee, a $12security surcharge and a $30 executionfee. For those under 16, the total costis $82.If your previous passport was issuedwhen you were 16 or older, was issued inthe past 15 years, is not damaged and issubmitted with your application for passportrenewal, the total fee is $67.For more information, visittravel.state.gov/passport or contact theU.S. Embassy at 519-2000.
