Electronically Readable Passports Required for U.S.
TRAVELERS from countries that arepart of the U.S. Visa Waiver Program arenow required to have passports that canbe electronically read or a visa in order toenter the United States, the U.S. Embassyhas announced.Until June 26, immigration officialsused their discretion to decide if carriersof non-electronically readable passportsshould be allowed into the United States.This possibility will be eliminated.
