Rice Table Raises Funds for Animal-Welfare Education

THE Humanitarian Associationfor Animal Protection (AHPPA) inSan Rafael de Heredia, north of SanJosé, held its annual fundraiser, knownas the “Rice Table,” on March 19.From ticket sales, donations and raffles,the event raised approximately$8,500, all of which will go to completingconstruction of the new schoolon the shelter premises.Construction of the school is nearlycomplete; classes will begin thismonth.
