ADDED SECURITY for shoppers: One hundred members of theSan José Municipal Police will help 1,600 officers of the nationalpolice force beef up security on the streets of the capital this holidayseason. In a ceremony outside the Central Post OfficeWednesday, President Abel Pacheco warned people to be extracareful with their aguinaldos (holiday bonuses). “Operation SafeChristmas” will involve 24-hour policing near banks, bus stops,shopping centers and busy streets in the metropolitan area.Throughout the country, a total of 11,000 police officers will be onhand to help keep the peace.
