A French chef who was vacationing on a beach in northwestern Costa Rica was stabbed to death in an apparent fight over a cell phone, judicial police said Thursday.
Starting this June, police in Puerto Viejo, Cocles, Cahuita, Flamingo, Dominical, Nosara, Sámara, Playas del Coco, and Tamarindo will start taking criminal complaints, according to Public Security Ministry spokesman José Vargas.
Authorities say they may have captured the serial killer terrorizing drug-addicted prostitutes in San José's slums. A suspect has been tied to three of the bodies through DNA evidence.
