Costa Rican exporters display their products to foreign buyers

The Fourteenth Buyers Trade Mission (BTM) officially launched Wednesday in the capital San José, with some 300 Costa Rican companies and 200 foreign buyers from 30 countries.

The BTM is organized by the Foreign Trade Promotion Office (PROCOMER), and is one of the most important trade events in the region and the country for the possibilities it offers to the Costa Rican export sector.

The opening ceremony was attended by Vice President Luis Liberman who said, “the BTM is an opportunity for foreign entrepreneurs to appreciate Costa Rican lifestyle and to strengthen ties of friendship.”

Organizers hope the event facilitates 3,500 meetings between local companies and potential partners. “These expectations are based on the tremendous diversification of our products,” Liberman added.

The Vice President also stated that the government will continue its policy of creating market opportunities with both European countries and the neighboring countries of Latin America.
