Traffic jams on Route 32 stretch up to 3 kilometers

Repairs to Route 32 have closed a stretch of the highway since Monday, and traffic is regulated at another section from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The work includes demarcation of white and yellow lines, and the placement of road reflectors at a cost of $338,000.

On Monday, the highway was closed for four hours in order to mark the center of the road on a stretch of 20 km, from the toll station and the bridge over the Río Sucio. Toll booths are open and drivers will not be required to pay.

Next week, the National Roadway Council (CONAVI) expects to demarcate the section between the bridge over the Río Virilla and the toll station.

Also in San José

Another route that is undergoing repairs is the road that connects the eastern districts of Zapote and Curridabat, including the street in front of the National Registry and La Galera, east of the capital.

The works are being performed between 10 p.m.-5 a.m. During that time the road is closed completely.

Construction on these routes are expected to be completed by Feb. 20, CONAVI said.
