Gunmen steal $60,000 in Costa Rica restaurant heist

Early Sunday morning, four masked gunmen burst into a restaurant in Garabito, Puntarenas, on the central Pacific coast, and robbed four Costa Rican businessmen of nearly $60,000 cash, according to the Judicial Investigation Police.

The stick-up artists knew that the four were carrying several suitcases worth of cash as they traveled from Barranca, Puntarenas, to Colón, Panama, for a buying trip they reportedly take three times a year.

The gunmen escaped from the scene near the Tárcoles River on two motorcycles.
