2 companies seeking 450 bilingual employees for Costa Rica operations

The Minnesota-based company Cargill is now hiring 300 people for their new shared-services center in Costa Rica that will provide support to 50 operations across the Americas.

Cargill recruiters are seeking professionals with experience in human resources, finance, IT, accounting, business administration and logistics. The company is looking for candidates with a strong command of the English language. The center also will offer support in Spanish.

The new facilities will operate under the free zone regime and will be located in San Antonio de Belén, in the province of Heredia. The opening date that will be disclosed in coming days.

Those interested in applying can do so at the company’s website, www.cargill.com/careers, in the Latin America section.

Cargill’s decision to open a services center in Costa Rica was based “on the country’s political and economic situation, and the availability of a highly trained workforce with good levels of foreign languages,” Cargill Central America President Bruce Burdett said earlier this year.

The company also sought references from other multinational groups with similar operations in the country, such as Wal-Mart, Procter & Gamble and Citibank. According to Burdett, “the references were very positive and influenced the final decision.”

Cargill in 2011 acquired Costa Rica’s popular meat and poultry producer Pipasa Corporation and also represents animal food brands including Purina, Ascan, Mimados and Don Gato.

150 call center jobs available

Concentrix, a worldwide provider of value-added global business services, is also looking to fill 150 posts in technical support and customer service.

Interested candidates must be high school graduates with a 90 percent command of the English language and available to work flexible hours. Previous experience also is required.

Applicants can send résumés by email to: cr_resume@concentrix.com or call 2519-6739 or 2519-6743 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Candidates also can visit the company’s facilities, located 50 meters south and 200 meters west of the U.S. Embassy in Pavas, west of San José.

The company has operated in Costa Rica since 2005 and currently has 750 employees.
