AeroMéxico adds daily flight to San José

Beginning on Nov. 3, AeroMéxico will add a new daily flight from San José, Costa Rica, to Mexico City, bringing to 14 the number of weekly flights between the two countries.

AeroMéxico’s Director of Revenue Anko van der Werff said the new flight “responds to growing demand for both leisure and business travelers who fly to Mexico City to connect with 40 cities in that country, or as a stopover for destinations in the U.S., Canada, Europe or Asia.”

Flights will depart every day from Mexico at 11:10 a.m. and will arrive in San José at 2:15 p.m. Departures from San José will leave at 3:15 p.m. and arrive in Mexico City at 6:35 p.m.

In 2013, nearly 70,000 Mexican travelers entered Costa Rica by air, representing an increase of 8.4 percent compared with 2012 arrivals.

Costa Rican Tourism Minister Wilhelm von Breymann called it “very important” to add new flights to Mexico. “Mexico has emerged as the leading source of Latin American tourists entering our country by air,” he said.
