Two job fairs this weekend will offer 1,000 positions in several areas including management, technical support and sales.
Outsourcing services provider SYKES on Saturday will be recruiting bilingual personnel to fill 100 technical support and customer service posts.
Candidates for technical support jobs must have intermediate to advanced knowledge of CISCO technologies and at least 85 percent command of the English language that will be tested in all four skills: listening, grammar, writing and reading comprehension.
The company will offer immediate hiring options for people who meet those requirements and who also are Costa Ricans or legal residents, are available to work flexible hours, have completed ninth grade in high school and have basic computing skills.
In addition, recruiters will keep records on applicants who aren’t hired on Saturday, as the company soon will be hiring 400 more people for the last quarter of this year.
Jobs also will be available in customer service and technical support, and the company will be looking for trilingual staff with intermediate proficiency in Portuguese.
The fair will be held at the SYKES facilities at Global Park, in La Aurora de Heredia, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Recruiters will accept résumés in digital format only.
Grupo Roble also is looking to fill 800 posts at different businesses based in Mall Multiplaza Curridabat, east of San José.
The company on Friday began interviewing candidates for posts in companies currently operating at the mall and for others that will be opening in coming months.
Recruiters will be looking to hire personnel at all levels, including management, customer service, supervising, technical support, maintenance, sales, restaurant staff, cashiers, and others.
Interviews will continue on Saturday, and interested job-hunters can present résumés in both digital and printed formats at the mall from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
