Magnitude-4.2 earthquake shakes Costa Rica on Wednesday afternoon

A magnitude-4.2 earthquake was felt at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday in Costa Rica, according to the Seismic Engineering Laboratory at the University of Costa Rica. The epicenter was located in Pérez Zeledón in the Southern Zone.

The Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica recorded a magnitude-4.5 for the earthquake.

The earthquake shook a large part of the country, including the the Central Valley for several seconds. No significant damage or injuries have been reported.
