Internet TV will arrive in May to Costa Rica

Sony Inter-American on Tuesday launched a new, high-tech television with Internet access (IPTV) at the Multiplaza Escazú Mall in the western San José suburb of Escazú.

The new television model will be available in May and cost approximately $1,400.

The TV offers technology that permits it to connect to wireless Internet and grants users access to popular programs like Skype, Facebook and YouTube. It also has the capability to let viewers watch programs in 3-D using special glasses. Screen sizes will range from 32-65 inches.

“Costa Rica is the first country in Central America where the IPTV has been introduced,” Sony store manager Gustavo González told The Tico Times. The new Sony screen will be presented in Honduras on Wednesday and in Panama on Thursday.
