Costa Rica to host Central America franchise summit

Costa Rica will host the first Central American Franchise Summit on May 14 at the Radisson Hotel, west of the capital.

The meeting aims to promote franchising business models both locally and internationally, according to Costa Rica’s Chamber of Commerce (CCCR).

“As part of our promotional work, we have gathered some of the most recognized professionals in the field who will be sharing their knowledge and experience with entrepreneurs interested in developing this type of business,” CCCR’s National Franchise Center Executive Director Karol Fallas said.

The summit will include four keynote discussions with franchising experts including Donald Boroian, CEO and founder of the U.S. company Francorp. Networking opportunities also will be available with 200 business representatives, Fallas said.

Those interested in attending can contact the National Franchise Center at: 2221-0005, Ext. 121.

A report by the CCCR last September said franchise-sector companies have created 27,000 direct jobs in Costa Rica. Of them 21,381 correspond to international franchises and 5,622 are local businesses.
