Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a day at the beach (or a jungle spa) in Costa Rica

Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this year, and many local tourism businesses are offering discounts on hotels, local flights, one-day tours and romantic dinners. Most discounts last throughout the weekend, but some extend for up to a month, National Tourism Chamber (CANATUR) President Isabel Vargas said.

Promotions include beach and mountainous destinations, and even romantic evenings in the Central Valley. Perks for couples include discounted one-day tours, accommodations with spa treatment packages, cheaper flights with accommodation included and serenaded dinners.

Among the many destinations taking part in the Valentine’s Day specials are Monteverde, Río Celeste, Guápiles, Manuel Antonio, Dominical, Playa Ballena, Cahuita and hotels and restaurants in San José. “We want to show that even during high season our sector is interested in promoting domestic tourism. We expect couples will celebrate Valentine’s weekend by traveling within our country,” Vargas said.

For a full list of available promotions, visit CANATUR’s website and Facebook page.
