Starwood plans four new Aloft hotels in the region

Starwood Hotels announced this month expansion plans in Latin America, with the opening of four new Aloft hotels in Panama, Mexico, Uruguay and Paraguay in the next two years.

“Aloft is stomping in Latin America,” said Brian McGuinness, senior vice president of specialty section selected brands for Starwood. “The brand continues to develop an aggressive policy of loyalty while experiencing a growing momentum to reach new markets around the world. We are excited about the growth of the brand,” he added.

Aloft growth in the continent is part of Starwood’s expansion strategy. The company already has 71 hotels in 10 countries in the region. Regional expansion started in December 2011 with the opening of Aloft Bogotá, Colombia, and three months later the company opened Aloft San José, in Costa Rica.

Both hotels were certified in “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design” (LEED) by the United States Green Building Council.

The signature hotels are characterized by modern architecture and for providing benefits to its guests such as its self-service pantry available 24-7, offering light meals and healthy snacks. Its fitness centers are also open all day, and guest can enjoy the various bars, discos, swimming pools and exclusive meeting areas.
