Verdeza Escazú opening soon

A project described as the “first continuing care retirement community for seniors in Costa Rica” will soon become a reality in the southwestern San José suburb of Escazú.

Verdeza Escazú broke ground recently in the Trejos Montealegre neighborhood, next to Avenida Escazú and close to Hospital CIMA, according to a press release from project developers. It is scheduled to open by the end of 2013.

Verdeza Escazú consists of 61 apartments, a restaurant-style dining room and numerous social areas. The building will have a 24-hour nursing staff, as well as an on-call and partially on-site general doctor. Individualized Care Plan Packages include: Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Support and Alzheimer’s Care and Skilled Nursing.

According to the press release, Verdeza does not offer a buy-in program, and residents do not own the apartments, but rather pay a monthly fee. Verdeza also will provide temporary stays for residents who want to try it out with no up-front costs.

For additional information about Verdeza Escazú, see: www.verdeza.com or stop in at the Information Center, which opens in 2013, to view a model apartment. The Information Center will be located near the exit of Hospital CIMA, adjacent to Avenida Escazú Medical Towers.

The development and structuring of Verdeza has been led by Noveza, a San José firm that develops and leads investments in new business opportunities. The strategic partner is Caribe Hospitality, one of the fastest growing hotel development and asset management companies in the region, the release said.
