Reptile Park Opens Near Dominical

THE non-venomous common tree boa (Corallus ruschenbergerii) is justone of the reptile species housed in Parque Reptilandia, in Platanillo,seven kilometers up the road from Dominical on the southern Pacificcoast.Comprising 54 terrarium-style enclosures and ponds on just over anacre of land, the recently opened park features reptiles from Costa Ricaand other parts of the world, including venomous and non-venomoussnakes, lizards, dart frogs, crocodilians and tortoises. Each species’enclosure is accompanied by an informative description of the animal inboth English and Spanish.Parque Reptilandia is open 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., seven days a week.Admission is $10 for foreigners/tourists, ¢1,500 ($3.25) for nationals/residentsand ¢500 ($1.10) for kids under 12.
