Art Wanted for Exhibit to Benefit Hogar Siembra

At Valoarte 2006, Costa Rican and foreign artists will have an opportunity to exhibit and sell their art to benefit Hogar Siembra, an organization that assists young victims of abandonment and physical and sexual abuse.

Participating artists include wellknown national figures such as Jorge Jiménez Deredia, Karen Clachar, Isidro Con Wong and Edgar Zúñiga.

Artists interested in participating should bring their work to the Children’s Museum in downtown San José on Aug. 9, according to the daily La Nación.

The 100 best entries will be selected for the exhibit by a curatorial committee made up of Rocío Fernández, Ruth Auerbach and Rodolfo Molina.

Prizes will be awarded in three categories: painting, sculpture and new media, which includes photography and conceptual art.

The exhibition will open at the Children’s Museum Sept. 21.
