The international Gross Global Happiness Summit is seeking leaders with bold ideas on happiness and wellbeing to shape its 2027 program.
The Centre for Executive Education at the University for Peace, a university established by the United Nations General Assembly, has opened its international Call for Speakers for Gross Global Happiness (GGH) 2027, taking place March 12–14, 2027, at the UPEACE campus in Costa Rica.
The Summit welcomes proposals from people across disciplines whose ideas and experiences can contribute to global conversations around happiness, wellbeing, human flourishing, leadership, education, peace, social impact and related fields.
Each year, the GGH Summit brings together a diverse community that includes coaches, NGO and business leaders, professors and educators, psychologists, social innovators and other professionals interested in understanding and advancing human and organizational wellbeing. Applicants are invited to bring an idea, story, practice or experience they believe can enrich the conversation through interactive workshops, facilitated conversations, storytelling, experiential offerings and other formats.
Over the years, the Gross Global Happiness Summit has welcomed some of the most recognized voices in happiness and wellbeing research as keynote speakers, including Dr. Robert Waldinger, Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky, Tal Ben-Shahar and Robin Stern. Alongside internationally recognized voices like these, GGH intentionally creates space for emerging ideas, diverse perspectives and practitioners doing meaningful work in communities and organizations around the world.

For Delafield, who has called Costa Rica home for more than 15 years, the Summit also reflects the kind of international community that first drew her to UPEACE. Originally from Upstate New York, her career in peacebuilding and social impact has taken her across the Americas before bringing her to the University for Peace, where she now directs the Centre for Executive Education.
Set within the forested UPEACE campus in Ciudad Colón, Gross Global Happiness brings together approximately 150 participants from around the world and is designed to go beyond a traditional conference format. The Summit creates opportunities for dialogue, experiential learning and meaningful connections among people approaching happiness and wellbeing from different professional, cultural and academic perspectives.
Speaker proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis, and spaces are limited. While applications remain open until September 1, 2026, interested speakers are encouraged to apply early.
