Some of the first bullfights of the season took place at the Jacó Festival in mid-December.
Highlights included long battles between bullriders and their toros, tranny parading around and taunting the bulls and rodeo clowns running at charging bulls, then flipping over them.
In Costa Rican bullfighting, the bulls are not killed or even injured, but people often are.
Anyone brave (read: dumb) enough to try their luck is welcome to enter the bullring.
