EIGHTEEN boats and 76 anglers participatedin the Costa Rica Classic tournamentat Quepos, on the central Pacificcoast, March 19-20, raising $15,000 forthe Cystic Fibrosis Association.The fish cooperated with a total of 262sailfish releases in the two days, and onSunday five boats tallied 20 or more sailfishfor that day alone.In first place were Marsha Bennett andPatricio Benardi, on the boat Magic Moon,trailed by Todd Calfee, David May andDoug and Tegtmeier, all from Nebraska,on the Swordfish.The third-place team was Danny Derringerand Richard Lebo, on the Spanish Fly.Anglers came from as far away asNew York, California, Florida, Wisconsin,Nebraska and even Italy.There was a tie for the biggest tablefish, with Jay Couglin catching a cuberaand Charles Max a dorado, both weighingin at 36 pounds.
