Housing Developer Donates Motorcycles to Jacó Police

Transit police in the popular beach town of Jacó, on the central Pacific coast, may soon have two more motorcycles at their disposal, thanks to a donation by Daystar Properties Management, a development and administration company that is building 600 condominium units in the area.

Siria Herrera, representative of Daystar, told The Tico Times in an e-mail that this is only one of multiple projects the company has carried out for the community. It also sponsored a Christmas party for low-income children and a beach cleanup.

Victor Mora, lawyer for Daystar, explained in a letter to Leonardo Fallas, lawyer of the Roadway Security Council (COSEVI), that the donation is “because our company is building important infrastructure projects in the area, by way of the construction of 600 housing units, which will bring 600 new families to the area, and that implies a large demand on public services.”

Police said the donation of the motorcycles, two 2006 Suzuki GN 125cc-motor bikes, is being processed.
