INBioparque, Tosty Launch Environmental Campaign

Did you know the sloth sleeps an average of 105 days a year? Well, if you didn t before, now you do, and thanks to an environmental education program launched this week, Costa Rica s schoolchildren will learn this and many other facts about the natural world around them.

The corporation DEMASA, which owns the snack food brand Tosty, has teamed up with the Environment and Energy Ministry (MINAE) and INBioparque in an educational campaign called Viva lo Verde ( Long Live the Green ) according to a DEMASA statement released this week.

The campaign, begins with a special promotion: Tosty products will include cards with information on the different animals found at INBioparque, a biological theme park managed by the National Biodiversity Institute (INBio). Children can also win prizes such as entrances to INBioparque.

In January 2007, the project enters the second phase, in which Tosty products will have special packaging highlighting INBioparque s diverse flora and fauna.
