Guanacaste Launches Commercial Exchange

WITH the objective of promoting tourism in the northern Pacific region, the Costa Rican Tourism Professionals Association (ACOPROT) held the first edition of the tourism fair Guanacaste Marketplace on Wednesday.During the fair, held at the Hotel Fiesta Premier in Papagayo, 44 buyers representing businesses in the United States, Germany, Argentina, Canada, Chile and England met with representatives of 58 Costa Rican companies that sell goods and services.Of the participating sellers, 30 represented Guanacaste, while the rest came from other tourist destinations in Costa Rica. One seller represented a Nicaraguan business, and another a company from the United States.According to ACOPROT, Guanacaste represents 18.5% of Costa Rica’s hotel capacity, split among 347 hotels.
