Inflation Reaches 2.98% So Far This Year

Costa Rica’s inflation registered 2.98% during the first four months of this year, and inflation over the past 12 months reached 9.76%, according to statistics released by the National Statistics and Census Institute (INEC).

This marks an increase over the first four months of last year, when inflation was 2.68%.

Last year, inflation in Costa Rica reached 9.43%. The Central Bank hopes that 2007 will close with inflation at about 8%.
