Police Get New Paddy Wagons

The Public Security Ministry Monday received 10 new vehicles equipped for transporting detainees.

These Nissan vehicles have all the technical specifications for the task, as well as an internal division to separate men and women, according to a statement from the ministry. They will be distributed to police units around the country.

The paddy wagons will “strengthen the efficiency and capacity of the National Police’s reaction in its ardent fight against crime and drug trafficking,” said Public Security Minister Fernando Berrocal.

The minister said that by the middle of this month, National Police will receive 100 new motorcycles and 24 patrol cars, and in October they will get another 87 motorcycles and 79 patrol cars.
