The Public Services Regulatory Authority announced on Tuesday that bus fares will increase by an average of 3.94 percent across the country starting next week. The hike in fares is to adjust for higher wages, fuel, spare parts and maintenance, the daily La Nación reported. The last adjustment was made in February 2010.
Riders can expect to pay between ₡5 and ₡270 more per trip, depending on the route. Fares for 187 routes will not change.
