Thomas Massie, Marjorie Taylor Greene Vacation Together in Costa Rica

Two of the most prominent Republican critics of President Donald Trump have turned up on a Costa Rican beach, days after political setbacks pushed both out of the spotlight in Washington.

Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, his wife Carolyn Grace Moffa, former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, and Greene’s fiancé Brian Glenn are vacationing together in Costa Rica, according to TMZ, which first reported the trip. They published a photo of the four of them posing together on the beach.

Greene and Glenn reportedly picked up Massie and his wife from the airport, and the group posed for a photo Tuesday night during dinner at a beachfront restaurant, dressed casually in tropical attire. The group spent time fishing and in what it described as “spicy” political conversation.

The getaway follows difficult stretches for both figures. Massie lost the Kentucky GOP primary on May 19, 2026, to Trump-backed challenger Ed Gallrein, a defeat that came after a sustained effort by the president to unseat him in the state’s 4th Congressional District. It was the most expensive House primary on record. Massie had repeatedly broken with Trump, most notably on the Iran conflict and on pushing for release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Greene, for her part, left Congress earlier this year. She announced on Nov. 21, 2025, that she would resign effective Jan. 5, 2026, after a public falling-out with Trump. Before leaving, she had backed Massie’s push to force release of the Epstein files, a stance that drew Trump’s ire.

Massie does not appear ready to exit politics. On Monday he filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission allowing him to run again in 2028, and he has signaled he intends to keep fundraising while weighing his next move. Representatives for Greene and Massie did not immediately respond to requests for comment
