Popeyes Unveils Biggest Outlet in Costa Rica at Santa Ana Trade Center

Popeyes launched its biggest outlet today marking a key step in its local growth. The new spot sits in the Santa Ana Trade Center along Route 27, right next to Walmart. This move targets the expanding commercial and residential areas in the west of the Central Valley.

The restaurant spans 400 square meters, making it the largest Popeyes in Costa Rica. It holds space for up to 135 people at once, with a play area for kids to keep families entertained. Four digital kiosks speed up orders and payments, while plenty of parking adds convenience for drivers. The setup focuses on quick service and a comfortable feel for all visitors.

This opening created 35 direct jobs, boosting the local economy. Popeyes now runs six locations across Costa Rica, including spots in San Francisco de Heredia, City Mall Alajuela, the Food Mall at the Liberia crossroads, Rohrmoser across from Plaza Mayor, and now Santa Ana. The chain returned to the market in 2024 after a prior exit and has steadily added sites since.

Customers can expect the brand’s signature fried chicken, marinated for 12 hours in a mix of spices from Louisiana. The menu also features sandwiches, tenders, sides like biscuits and Cajun fries, and desserts. Prices start around â‚¡2,000 for basic items, with combos up to â‚¡5,000. Drive-thru service runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, fitting busy schedules.

Vladimir Monestel, marketing manager for Popeyes Costa Rica, said this launch shows the company’s push forward. “It positions us as the go-to choice for real chicken flavor,” he noted. The firm aims to add more outlets to meet rising demand.

This expansion fits Popeyes’ broader plan in Latin America, where it competes with chains like KFC and local options. In Costa Rica, the fast-food sector grows as people seek quick, tasty meals. The Santa Ana site draws from nearby offices, homes, and shoppers, aiming to pull in steady crowds.

Residents in the area seemed to welcome the news. One nearby worker mentioned looking forward to trying the spicy options during lunch breaks. With its size and extras, this restaurant sets a new standard for the brand here.

Popeyes first entered Costa Rica years ago but left before relaunching in mid-2024 with the Heredia location. Since then, openings have picked up pace, reaching areas beyond the capital. The chain stresses fresh ingredients and bold tastes to stand out. As Costa Rica’s economy rebounds, such investments signal confidence. Job creation and new dining choices benefit communities. Popeyes plans further growth, though details on future sites remain under wraps.
