Ocaso Music Festival Returns to Costa Rica with International Lineup

The Ocaso Underground Music Festival prepares for its ninth edition, set to bring house and techno beats to the central Pacific coast from January 22 to 25. Organizers expect thousands of attendees from around the world to gather just outside Jacó for a mix of music, art, and late-night gatherings.

The event takes place along Ruta 34 Costanera, about 10 minutes south of Jacó, at the spot where Río Tulín meets the ocean. This natural setting offers a backdrop of beach and forest, where festival-goers can experience sets from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. each night. The main days fall on January 23 and 24, with a welcome party on the 22nd and closing activities on the 25th.

This year’s lineup features international DJs known for their work in house and techno. Vintage Culture leads the acts, joined by BLOND:ISH, Discip, Dombresky, and Magdalena. Local artist Toledo adds a national touch with a special performance of electronic versions of his tracks, created just for the festival. These sets aim to push boundaries in contemporary electronic music, with a focus on creative expression.

Ocaso draws an international crowd of travelers who seek nightlife experiences. Past editions have seen close to 5,000 people attend, turning the area into a hub for music lovers. Attendees can expect live art displays, microbrewery options, and food vendors alongside the performances. The festival limits entry to those 18 and older.

Tickets for all four days cost under $100 and remain available through the official website. Organizers recommend early purchase as spots fill quickly. For groups, table packages provide added access, including concierge service. The festival started as a small underground event and has grown into a key draw for Costa Rica’s music scene. It highlights our country’s appeal as a spot for electronic music amid natural surroundings. As preparations wrap up, local businesses in Jacó and nearby areas gear up for the influx of visitors.

Travelers heading to the event should plan for transportation along the coast road. Public buses run from San José to Jacó, with taxis or shuttles covering the short distance to the site. Accommodations range from hotels in town to beachfront rentals. Ocaso stands out for its commitment to immersive sound and community. DJs perform on stages set against the waves, creating a space where music takes center stage. With the event days away, anticipation builds among fans ready for the rhythms.
