Dancing with the Stars Host Julianne Hough Shares Costa Rica Vacation

Julianne Hough, the dancer and actress known for her work on Dancing with the Stars, has returned to Costa Rica for a vacation. The 37-year-old, who stepped into the co-host role on the show in 2023 alongside Alfonso Ribeiro, shared glimpses of her trip through social media posts this week.

Hough posted photos from her time in the country on January 8, showing her on the beach in a string bikini. One image captured her from behind, highlighting the suit’s design, while others depicted her relaxing under the sun. Fans responded positively, commenting on her appearance and asking about her next destinations. She also shared content from late December, including a video of her dancing on the sand in a leopard-print bikini and posing near a Christmas tree in another swimsuit.

This marks at least her third visit to Costa Rica. In 2021, Hough vacationed here and posted about feeling free while dancing on the beach in a similar outfit. She stayed at the Andaz resort during that trip. Her repeated trips point to the country’s appeal for rest and natural settings, drawing many international visitors each year.

As co-host of Dancing with the Stars, Hough brings her background as a two-time champion from seasons four and five. She first joined the show as a professional dancer in 2007 and later served as a judge from 2014 to 2017 before returning in her current position. The program, now in its later seasons, continues to feature celebrity contestants learning ballroom routines.

Hough’s posts did not specify her exact location in Costa Rica this time, but past visits included areas like Santa Teresa on the Nicoya Peninsula. The region offers beaches and wellness activities, which align with her interests in fitness and dance. She has not announced how long she plans to stay or any public events during her visit.

Costa Rica remains a favored spot for figures in entertainment. Other recent visitors include actors like Hugh Jackman and politicians such as U.S. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who came for holiday breaks. Our country’s beaches, biodiversity, and privacy options make it a steady choice for those seeking time away from schedules.

Hough’s career extends beyond television. She has acted in films like Footloose and Safe Haven and released music albums. Her presence here adds to the list of stars who find respite in our tropical environment.
