New fuel prices take effect Thursday

Fuel prices will go up again after a new decree signed last week by the Public Services Regulatory Authority (ARESEP) was printed Wednesday in the official newspaper La Gaceta.

Beginning at midnight on Thursday, the per-liter price of gasoline will cost ₡30 more, or ₡786 for a liter of super gasoline and ₡748 for plus.

For diesel, the price will increase ₡33 to ₡669 per liter.

According to ARESEP, the adjustment in prices are due to higher international prices during the first half of September. Last month, oil prices increased $8 per barrel.
