New fuel prices take effect Thursday

Fuel prices will go up again after a new decree signed last week by the Public Services Regulatory Authority (ARESEP) was printed Wednesday in the official newspaper La Gaceta.

Beginning at midnight on Thursday, the per-liter price of gasoline will cost â‚¡30 more, or â‚¡786 for a liter of super gasoline and â‚¡748 for plus.

For diesel, the price will increase â‚¡33 to â‚¡669 per liter.

According to ARESEP, the adjustment in prices are due to higher international prices during the first half of September. Last month, oil prices increased $8 per barrel.
