Expotur 2012 ends today

From the print edition

Expotur 2012 kicked off Wednesday night with an inauguration at the National Theatre. The ceremony was attended by Vice President Luis Liberman, Tourism Minster Allan Flores and San José Mayor Johnny Araya.

The 28th edition of Expotur runs through Friday. Some 300 travel companies will attempt to win the business of 220 international buyers.

The number of buyers at the country’s largest tourism fair increased by 62 from the previous year. However, this year’s event is not open to the public. Thirty-seven countries are joining in this year’s Expotur, and a growing number of participants come from emerging markets.
