Friendly Reminder About Driver’s Licenses
Foreigners with a valid visa and a current driver’s license from their home country are entitled to a similar Costa Rican permit, according to a recent statement from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT).
The statement, recently issued as a reminder to “concerned foreign residents,” also advises foreigners that a valid driver’s license from a foreign country allows tourists to drive in Costa Rica for up to three months.
