‘Enchanting Taiwan’ on Display in Barrio Escalante

A look through the lens of some of Taiwan’s most talented photographers capturing the natural and cultural beauty of the island republic will be offered in a photography exhibit entitled “La Encantadora Taiwan” (“Enchanting Taiwan”), opening Sept. 29 through Oct. 11, at the Rafael Ángel Calderón Guardia Museum in San José’s Barrio Escalante.The exhibit, presented by the Embassy of Taiwan, features 65 photos showcasing Taiwan’s uniqueness.According to a press release from the embassy, “the exhibit reveals the extraordinary nature and singular culture of Taiwan. It places us closer to the island and presents a fresh perspective of this enchanting land.”The photos offer visitors a chance to see the island’s natural landscape of wind and sea, some of its most outstanding cultural expressions and glimpses of modern and ancient elements of its cities, according to the press release.The exhibit is open to the public Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free For more information, call 222-6392 or 255-1218.
