Course now offered for drivers with suspended licenses

Drivers who lost their right to drive after losing 50 or more points from their licenses can register for a driving course in order to recover their licenses.

To qualify, drivers must have had their licenses suspended for at least two years.

Silvia Bolaños, director of the National Roadway Council, said that people who already have completed their suspension time – more than 4,000 drivers – must pay the ₡5,000 ($10) fee for re-accreditation courses at Banco de Costa Rica, HSBC, Banco Nacional or Servicoop offices, either in person or via their websites.

Motorists can check their license points at the council’s website: www.csv.go.cr.
