One million dollar reward for whereabouts of Costa Rican ‘black widow’

A California judge issued a $1 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Costa Rican Nazira Maria Cross, one of the FBI’s most-wanted fugitives. Cross is wanted for allegedly murdering her former husband at one of his residences in Plumas County, California, in the United States.

Local police say she allegedly murdered ex-husband Mike Cross, a successful businessman, by poisoning him on July 31, 2008. The victim allegedly discovered that she had embezzled thousands of dollars from their jointly held businesses.

Police believe that after poisoning her husband, the suspect drove the dying man to Nevada. After he died, Nazira Maria Cross allegedly buried her husband on a ranch in Lovelock, Nevada. She then ran over the grave site repeatedly with her car.

The couple had been married for about eight years before they divorced in January 2008. They met in Costa Rica when Michael Cross was on vacation.

The FBI believes that she and her two children, Runar and Natasha, could be in hiding in Costa Rica or Peru.
