Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla to meet with Honduras’ Porfirio Lobo

Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla and Honduran President Porfirio Lobo will hold a working meeting in the Costa Rican capital on Thursday at the Foreign Ministry, Communications Minister Francisco Chacón said.

Chinchilla and Lobo will discuss a bilateral, regional and international agenda, including the process of regional integration, and the terms under which Costa Rica will assume the presidency of the Central American Integration System in 2013.

They will also discuss Costa Rica’s role in the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, as Costa Rica is also set to chair that organization in 2014.

The agenda also includes the analysis of mechanisms to strengthen cooperation on security and sustainable, rural and community tourism.

Lobo will arrive in Costa Rica on Thursday at 11 a.m., accompanied by five of his ministers. The meeting with Chinchilla is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m.
