Repair works on Route 32 begin next week

Passage of vehicles on Route 32, a highway connecting the capital San José with the Caribbean province of Limón, will be regulated next week when work crews from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) begin repair work on one of the lanes.

Improvement works include demolition of the existing concrete layer and paving the road.

Transit and MOPT authorities prepared a special regulation plan, as the first stage of the work requires  completely closing one of the highway’s lanes.

This first stage will extend from the intersection at the installations of the daily La República in Tournón (Northwest of San José) to the bridge known as Saprissa. MOPT officials estimate that the work will last at least three months.
