Costa Rican metalsmith shines in Italy

Tico metalsmith and jewelry designer Daniel Icaza’s “Monetary Bondage” collection won the Leonardo Award in Applied Arts second prize at last month’s Biennale of Chianciano, a prestigious museum exhibition and award staged and organized by the Chianciano Art Museum in Italy. 

Icaza, a graduate of  Arizona State University’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, was one of 160 artists from 50 countries selected to exhibit at the event.
