Boutique health, beauty shop opens in Curridabat

When Mohamed Houssain Ali and his family were designing Zahha Clinic, they envisioned a one-stop space that combined aesthetic health treatments and services.

The idea evolved into a three-floor boutique spa equipped with the latest technology in cosmetic surgery, plus a veteran staff. The building is outfitted with four consultation offices, two massage studios, three operating rooms, a psychologist’s office and areas for relaxation and recuperation.

“Our aim was to create an ambiance of relaxation and comfort,” said Arig Ibrahim, Houssain’s cousin and the clinic’s medical director. “We made it a place we wanted to be.”

The white-walled clinic, accented in green and enhanced by meditation features such as fountains and rock gardens, opened its doors for the first time on Jan. 19, with a guest list that included top practitioners in cosmetic health, media and government officials.

Houssain, who traveled from his home in Venezuela for the inaugural event, said the clinic takes its name from the word for “health” in Arabic.

“We hope clients will take advantage of the fact that all of the medical and aesthetic services are in one place,” Houssain said.

Zahha Clinic is located 550 meters south of McDonalds and Plaza del Sol in Curridabat, in eastern San José. Tel: 2280-1110.
