PHOTOS: Costa Rica Celebrates 193 Years of Independence

Thousands of students from 18 San José schools marched along Avenida Segunda Monday morning to celebrate Costa Rica’s 193 years of independence. Families also gathered along the avenue to watch the kids parade and perform. President Luis Guillermo Solís, First Lady Mercedes Peñas, government ministers, lawmakers and other officials also attended the activities. Cantons across the country also had their own parades.
