Sushi and other Japanese traditions to be offered up at fundraiser for earthquake victims

A fundraiser called “Día Arigato: Ticos por Japón” (Day of Thanks, Ticos for Japan) will be held at 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday to help Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims. Participation is free. The activity will take place in San José’s National Culture Center (CENAC), next to Parque España, and is organized by the Japanese Embassy, the Japanese Association in Costa Rica and the Culture

The event will showcase Japanese culture, music and items of pop and traditional Japanese culture will be for sale, including “manga” (comics), “anime” (Japanese animation), food, tech exhibits and calligraphy.

Profits will go to the Costa Rican Red Cross for distribution in Japan.
